Joey Parrish 06fd3ce322 fix: Fix strict compiler errors ...

In our Google-internal build systems, with the strictest compiler
settings, we were seeing errors related to these two issues:

1. A missing require
2. Incomplete type info

This fixes the errors in that environment.
